How can I change my company details?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Keeping your company details accurate is important, and while you can’t update them directly through Capitalise, we’re here to guide you through the right steps.

Where to update your company details: Companies House

All company details shown in your credit profile come from public records, primarily Companies House (the United Kingdom’s official company registrar). Companies House offers various methods for submitting updates, primarily online through their website. You can typically:

  • Use their online filing services.

  • Download forms from their website and submit them by post.

  • Speak with your accountant.

Types of information you can update at Companies House:

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Company name: if your company has undergone a name change.

  • Registered address: if your company's official address has changed.

  • Directors: when there are appointments or resignations of company directors.

  • Secretary: changes to the company secretary (if applicable).

  • Shareholders: updates to shareholder information, particularly significant changes.

  • Charges (Mortgages): registering new charges or releasing existing ones.

  • Annual Accounts: filing your yearly financial statements.

  • Confirmation Statement: submitting your annual confirmation statement to verify company information.

For detailed instructions on how to make specific changes, please refer to the official Companies House website. It provides guidance on all filing requirements and procedures.

How updates affect your business credit profile:

Once you've successfully updated your company details with Companies House, Experian, our data provider, will subsequently retrieve this updated information. This means that the changes you make at Companies House will eventually be reflected in the information displayed on your Capitalise credit profile. Please allow some time for these updates to be processed by Companies House and then by Experian.
