How often is my business credit score updated?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Your business credit score is updated periodically based on new information from various sources. While it doesn’t change in real time, it reflects the most recent data reported to credit agencies. Here’s how and when updates typically happen:

Monthly updates to your business credit score:

Credit agencies like Experian update your score roughly every 30 to 45 days, depending on when your creditors and banks report data. This includes information about how promptly you pay suppliers, how much credit you're using, and your bank account activity.

Event-driven updates to your business credit score:

Some changes are triggered as soon as public events occur. For example:

  • Annual accounts and director changes filed at Companies House

  • County Court Judgments (CCJs) or other legal actions

These are usually updated shortly after being recorded.

Ongoing factors:

The length of your credit history is also a factor. While it changes continuously, it only has an impact when reassessed during scheduled or triggered updates.

While updates aren’t made daily, it’s a good idea to check your business credit profile regularly. This helps you track changes, spot issues early, and keep your financial reputation strong.
