Capitalise leverages Experian's extensive database to provide you with a comprehensive view of your business credit information.

Key sources of data for Experian:

Experian gathers your company's information from various sources, with a significant portion originating from Companies House, the official registrar of companies in the United Kingdom.

1. Public records from Companies House:

Companies House is a central government agency that maintains records on all registered companies in the UK. Experian regularly retrieves the following types of publicly available information directly from Companies House:

  • Company identification:

    • Company name

    • Company number

    • Registered address

  • Governance and structure:

    • Current and historical Directors

    • Secretary details (if applicable)

  • Financial obligations:

    • Details of any registered charges ( mortgages or other security interests against company assets)

    • Information related to insolvency proceedings (if applicable)

2. Ownership records via Companies House:

In addition to core company details, Experian also sources ownership-related information from Companies House filings, including:

  • Shareholders: details of individuals or entities holding significant shares in the company.

  • Parent company: information about any ultimate holding company.
