Can Capitalise change or update my business credit data?

No, Capitalise cannot change, edit, or influence your business credit data as we solely provide access to your credit profile using data supplied by Experian. We do not own or control this information.

If you notice any inaccuracies or need to dispute something on your report, you will need to contact Experian directly, as only they have the authority to investigate and update credit data.

How to raise a dispute with Experian

To challenge or correct your business credit information:

  1. Call Experian’s Business Support Team 📞 0345 045 8081 (select option 2)

  2. Let them know you’re a Capitalise customer.

  3. Be ready to provide your company registration number and details of the information you believe is incorrect.

  4. 4. Attach supporting documents by downloading your business credit report from your Capitalise account. To do this:

    • Log in to your Capitalise account.

    • Open your business credit profile.

    • Select “Download PDF Report.”

Important: only a registered company director can raise a dispute due to the sensitive nature of business credit data. Once Experian or the financial institution resolves the issue and updates their records, the changes will automatically reflect in your Capitalise business credit profile. This ensures your profile remains accurate and up-to-date.

Reporting suspected fraud

If the incorrect entry involves a bank account or other financial information that isn’t yours, report it to the relevant financial institution’s fraud team. For example:

  • If an unfamiliar bank account appears, contact the bank directly to report potential fraud.

  • Provide all necessary details to assist their investigation.
